Starting at $112,00,000, the BMW X5 is set to release in November of this year. This is the fourth generation of the series, with the X5 gaining new technologies, safety features, and even the choice of a 6 or 8-cylinder engine. Initially Australia will get the 2 diesel variants seen as the most popular choice amongst BMW X5 customers. These are the XDrive30d and M50d all-wheel drive variants. These two engines provide 0-100kph figures of 6.5 secs and 5.2 secs from 195kw/620Nm & 294kw/760Nm respectively. The X5 promises improvements in luxury, technology and ride and handling. Future modifications include the ability to choose a hybrid plugin.
Jaguar I-PACE
Tesla raised the bar for fully electric cars and manufactures are now following. Jaguar has just released in the Australian market it’s first fully electric I-PACE. Lexus ES 300h
The seventh generation Lexus ES 300h is a four-door sedan that’s anything but suburban. The Australian market is one of the first worldwide to receive this exclusively powered hybrid-drive system. More economical than before with the promise of 4.6L/100km. The new engine produces 131kw and 221nm and when combined with the electric motor rises to160kw’s.. Quieter, longer, wider and lower than the previous model it will be cheaper also with prices starting at $59,888. Coming in two grades, Luxury and Sports making it a fun and practical choice for anyone looking to upgrade to something extraordinary.
Porsche Cayenne
We couldn’t complete a list of top cars without including the classic Porsche Cayenne. The 2019 edition takes everything that’s great about a Cayenne and makes it even better. The all new Cayenne will come into Australia with a choice of between 2.9-litre V6 and 4.0-litre V8 petrol engines. Expect as standard Porsches eight speed Tiptronic S auto transmission as standard. These engines produces 324kw/550Nm and 404kw/770Nm respectively. With an engines providing this much performance, you’ll truly enjoy driving this car. The interior is bigger than the 2018 model, and the car itself is actually faster than last year’s, all the while getting better fuel economy. Porsche has also officially pulled the plug on diesel engines seeing the future in electric vehicles and hybrid combinations. Prices will start at $116,300 rising to $239,400 for the V8.
Volvo V60
The only station wagon on our list, the Volvo V60 gives you the reliability that you come to expect with a Volvo in a beautiful, streamlined body. The highlights in this all new model focus around styling /interior presentation, safety, space and its T6 petrol engine. This station wagon packs a lot of power into the larger, roomier body with 529-litre boot space. Volvo’s City Safety System is further enhanced allowing the vehicle to drive itself at speeds up to 130km/h. Customise the V60 by choosing one of two trims, either Momentum or Inscription.
